Arrangement for accommodation for delegates who have registered to participate in the 8th WHC has been made in Hotel Pennsylvania 401 - 7th Ave(at 33rd St), New York, NY 10001-2062- Tel: 212-7365000; Fax: 212-5028712.  The hotel is about 5-7 minutes by walk from the conference venue i.e. Fashion Institute of Technology.

Room tariff @ $ 139/- per night per room is $ 556 (Rs. 24,711/-) for 4 nights on single occupancy basis. On double occupancy basis, the room tariff would be $ 70/- per night or $ 280/- (Rs. 12,444) for 4 nights for the duration of the conference from July 12-15, 2007.

The rooms will be reserved in the name of the delegate concerned after payment of room charges for the duration of the conference i.e. 4 nights.  It may be noted that the rooms will be booked for each delegate for a block of 4 nights.  Should any delegate wish to curtail his/her stay, no refund would be made nor will a request for booking rooms for lesser number of days (say 2 or 3 days instead of 4 days) be entertained.

In addition, as per the local rules porterage @ US$ 6/- per bag will be charged by the hotel which will be required to be paid by the delegate.

Mode of payment

Payment for hotel accommodation may be made through any of the following modes:

(i)                   Payment by delegates outside India, including USA may be made in US Dollars through bank transfers, DD or credit card in favour of 'CGI World Hindi Conference Registration' A/c No. 77606578720001, swift code is SBIN US33.  However, the transaction costs will be borne by the delegate.

(ii)                 Payments by delegates from USA may also be made through bank cheques in US Dollars in favour of 'CGI World Hindi Conference Registration' A/c No. 77606578720001.   However, accommodation in their name will be confirmed only upon realization of payment.

(iii)                Payment of Rs. 24,711/-(for single occupancy) or Rs. 12,444/- (for double occupancy) by delegates from India may be made through DD/Pay Order drawn in favour of "Pay & Accounts Officer, MEA, New Delhi" and sent to Hindi Section, Ministry of External Affairs, Room No. 235-N, South Block, New Delhi-110011.  Registration number of the delegate concerned may be mentioned in all the correspondence relating to the 8th World Hindi Conference.

(iv)               In case the delegate wishes to avail of the accommodation on twin sharing basis and wants to share it with a specific registered delegate, full details of the delegate along with his/her registration number may kindly be furnished to facilitate arrangement for accommodation accordingly.

(v)                 On realization of payment through any of the above modes the delegate concerned will be intimated details of his booking for sake of convenience.

Transport arrangement for delegates would be made from Hotel Pennsylvania only to the UN HQ for the opening session.  Further, delegates can make their own staying arrangement, if they so choose.  In such cases the delegate(s) concerned will make their own transport arrangement to reach the conference venue and UN HQ where inaugural session would be held.
